The coastal path on Anafi

The trail, marked number 1, starts at the road junction just outside Chora, where one road leads down to the harbor and the other runs along the coast to the east. Follow the trail, which branches off to the right at this junction, running parallel to the main road for a few hundred meters. It eventually leads up to the main road, which you follow for a short distance. Then, take the first side road to the right, which crosses the "Coastal Path" just below the main road. Follow the "Coastal Path," which leads you all the way to Zoodochos Pigi. It winds around hilltops and rocky outcrops through a landscape of nature and culture. Along the way, we saw coves with golden sand and houses in sun-bleached yellow. The hike is estimated to take two hours and twenty minutes. We took four and a half hours, but we also went wrong several times because the trail isn’t well marked all the way. When we finally reached the monastery, we decided to hike up to the top of Kalamos, which added two more hours. It was a tough hike, so we decided to call a taxi so we wouldn’t have to walk all the way back to Chora. Unfortunately, there was no mobile signal, so we resigned ourselves to walking the long way back to the hotel. It also started raining, making it quite unpleasant. After we had walked about two kilometers, a car came driving toward the capital, so we stepped into the road and waved to get it to stop. But no, it just drove on. So we continued walking, feeling rather low. But to our surprise, the car came back. The couple had changed their minds and decid
